Venture Highway (VH), a venture capital firm that specialises in India, is merging with General Catalyst (GC), a Silicon Valley-based firm.
One of the ventures that General Catalyst has supported is Loop, while others include Spinny, Orange Health, and CRED.

The new investments from the US-based venture capital firm will be guided by Venture Highway, which will now be known as General Catalyst India.
According to General Catalyst, the joint firm will significantly enhance the Indo-US-Europe collaboration in AI, technology, industry, and talent. In addition, they will establish industry-specific incubation and partnership strategies to establish significant enterprises from India for the global market.
General Catalyst will allocate between $500 million and $1 billion from its most recent fund to early-stage and growth capital. General Catalyst is currently in the process of establishing a $6 billion fund, as indicated by a recent report by the Financial Times.
The merger is the result of nearly two and a half years of negotiations and searching for the appropriate partner in the Indian ecosystem to advance General Catalyst's investments in the region. Hemant Taneja, the CEO and Managing Director of General Catalyst.
