Chennai-based drone manufacturing company Garuda Aerospace has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rallis India Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Chemicals and one of the leading players in the agriculture industry.

Rally will supply pesticides and crop nutrients to Garuda Aerospace for a pilot demonstration in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, as per reported by The Economic Times.

“The partnership will demonstrate end-to-end drone service solutions to farmers and the channel partners,” Agnishwar Jayaprakash, founder and CEO, of Garuda Aerospace said in a statement. “This shall also make Agri operations convenient for Drone pilots to conduct better demonstrations for the farmers. We seek to make farmers Atamanirbhar and create employment opportunities for them.”

The businesses said that by utilising technology in agricultural operations, Garuda Aerospace and Rallis India Limited are collaborating for the benefit of farmers. Both businesses are leaders in their respective industries; Rallis India is renowned for its extensive distribution network, while Garuda Aerospace is renowned for offering the best drone solutions for the agriculture industry.

The drone pilots will perform demonstrations on crops like paddy, onion, Bengal gram, wheat, and vegetables on around 1000 acres of land. This drone-based solution will enable businesses to achieve their sustainability goals by helping them drive efficient use of resources.

“This collaboration is aimed at not only educating farmers and channel partners but also providing first-hand experience of the advantages of drone applications. We are continuously focused on making farming more resilient. We are certain that this collaboration will further augment this endeavour,” S Nagarajan, Chief Operating Officer, Rallis India said.
