VC firm Athera Gets HDFC AMC Support for a Rs 900-Crore Fund

Athera Venture Partners, an early-stage investor focused on technology, has secured a capital commitment from HDFC Asset Management Company for its fourth fund.

Athera Venture Partners, an early-stage investor focused on technology, has secured a capital commitment from HDFC Asset Management Company for its fourth fund. Athera has previously supported companies like spacetech firm Pixxel and electric vehicle maker Euler Motors.

The amount HDFC AMC invested in the fund was not disclosed.

Rutvik Doshi, the firm’s general partner, said that HDFC Asset Management has become one of the biggest supporters of Athera Venture Partners’ fourth fund, which is aiming to close at ₹900 crore early next year.

Athera plans to close its fourth fund in 2025. So far, the VC firm has invested in six startups, including autonomous robotics company Ati Motors, 3D gaming platform Terra, AI automation firm Hyperbots, robotics startup CynLr, digital products seller Billion Hearts, and logistics software provider ClickPost.

The VC firm stated that it will use the fund to invest in tech-focused startups in areas like consumer Internet, enterprise software, AI, and other emerging technologies.
