Sisir Radar’s cofounder and CEO Soumya Misra, said, “We are building world-class earth observation solutions to make India self-reliant and establish it as a global provider of high-resolution satellite imagery."

The funding comes as investor interest in India's spacetech sector is growing. At the same time, the government is actively supporting the industry.

IN-SPACe has launched a Rs 500 Cr technology adoption fund to help spacetech startups develop commercial products. The fund will cover up to 60% of project costs for startups and MSMEs, with a maximum of Rs 25 Cr per project.

About Sisir Radar

Founded in 2022 by Tapan Misra (former director of Space Applications Centre (SAC) at ISRO), Soumya Misra and Urmi Bhambhani, the Kolkata-based Sisir Radar has developed advanced SAR systems for air and space platforms, covering multiple satellite frequency bands (P/L/S/C/X).

These SAR systems capture high-resolution 2D and 3D images of landscapes, providing detailed information about ground objects. They work in all weather conditions, including rain and clouds.

The company has also created a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) that detects underground features, useful for infrastructure monitoring and bomb detection. Additionally, it offers drone-based hyperspectral imaging solutions.

Sisir Radar has won two IDEX challenges to develop specialized SAR satellites for the Indian Air Force (IAF).
