Luma Fertility Raises $4 Mn in Seed Round Led by Peak XV’s Surge to Expand Tech-Enabled Fertility Services

Fertility-tech startup Luma Fertility has raised $4 million in seed funding led by Peak XV’s Surge, with notable participation from Ameera Shah (Metropolis Healthcare) and Vijay Taparia (B2V Ventures). The funding will fuel Luma’s expansion across Mumbai and into new cities over the next two years.

Founded by Neha K. Motwani, former founder of Fitternity (acquired by Cult.fit in 2021), Luma Fertility offers end-to-end fertility care, including IVF, fertility assessments, egg and embryo freezing, and pre-conception services.

The company recently launched a 6,000 sq ft tech-enabled flagship clinic in Bandra, Mumbai, blending clinical expertise with holistic wellness services such as nutrition, IV therapy, acupuncture, and at-home semen testing.

Luma’s platform includes an IVF companion app with tools for journey tracking, real-time lab reports and LumaAI, a 24/7 virtual assistant that offers medication and cycle support. The clinic itself is designed for transparency and comfort, featuring an open lab design and a dedicated care team for every patient.

“With declining fertility rates and increasing IVF demand, there’s a clear need for modern, tech-first reproductive care, said founder Neha Motwani.

India’s fertility rate has dropped from 2.1 to 1.9, and IVF cycles are projected to grow from 320,000 in 2024 to 550,000 by 2028. Luma aims to tap into this growing demand, particularly from millennials and Gen Z consumers seeking to delay parenthood through egg and embryo freezing.

With this fresh capital, Luma Fertility plans to scale operations, enhance its digital tools, and bring accessible, transparent fertility care to more cities across India.
