Legal tech startup Lucio secures $5 Mn funding led by DeVC

Lucio, an AI-based legal tech startup, has raised $5 million in funding led by DeVC, along with high-net-worth investors Ashish Kacholia and Lashit Sanghvi. 

The funding will be used to broaden product offerings and improve personalization features for lawyers across different jurisdictions. It also aims to enhance its AI models, develop additional integrations with legal databases, and expand into new markets.

“Most legal tech doesn’t fail in demos, it fails at desks,” said Vasu Aggarwal, co-founder of Lucio. “We are building Lucio to disappear into legal workflows, to meet lawyers where they already are and elevate the quality of their output.”

Co-founder Darsan Guruvayurappan said the company’s goal is to “reimagine the experience for clients, attorneys, and all stakeholders in the legal ecosystem.”

Adopted by over 200 organizations worldwide—including enterprise law firms, in-house teams, and boutique firms—Lucio currently supports more than 3,000 lawyers across nine jurisdictions. The platform assists with drafting, document review, due diligence, legal research, and translation, helping lawyers save an average of 30 hours per month.

Driven by increasing adoption and rising market demand, Lucio is preparing for its next fundraising round to scale product development and go-to-market operations.
