"Expanding electric bus services on intercity routes brings many challenges from planning routes and managing charging infrastructure to ensuring fleet reliability and earning passenger trust. With this funding, we can improve how we manage our fleet, communicate with passengers in real time, and predict maintenance needs more accurately," LeafyBus Co-Founder Animesh Sharma said.

About LeafyBus

Founded in 2023 by Dewan and Animesh Sharma, LeafyBus is an online EV bus operator offering intercity travel within 300 km of Delhi.

It currently runs on the Delhi-Dehradun and Delhi-Agra routes, with plans to expand to Chandigarh, Jaipur, and more cities. The startup competes with operators like NueGo, Redbus, Fresh Bus, Yolobus, Zing Bus, and FlixBus.

LeafyBus says it is the only operator running long-distance electric buses powered by a 360 kW fast-charging station. Its buses are sourced from OEMs like JBM and Azad India Mobility, with plans to partner with Tata and Eicher for fleet expansion over the next two years.

The company follows a hybrid model—20–25% of buses owned, while the rest are leased. It targets a turnover of INR 75–80 Cr in FY26.
