Lavni Ventures announces first close of early stage deep-tech impact fund

Lavni Ventures has announced a ₹200 crore deeptech impact fund to support India’s most promising science-based startups.

The fund aims to help innovations in climate, healthcare, energy and education reach a global level.

With support from government initiatives like the National Deep Tech Startup Policy and the Deep Tech Innovation Platform, Lavni venture's Fund II plans to invest in tech-driven solutions that can successfully address some of the world's biggest challenges.

Lavni Ventures says Fund II will invest between ₹2 crore and ₹8 crore in startups at the Seed to Series A stage, and ₹8 crore to ₹15 crore for follow-up funding. The fund reviews more than 800 deep-tech deals each year and chooses companies based on strong business models, clear impact, and good chances of success.

Lavni’s portfolio companies like Padcare Labs, Monitra Healthcare, and MedPrime Technologies show the strength of India’s deep-tech ecosystem. Together, Fund I startups have helped over 3.5 million students learn, supported more than 10,000 healthcare interventions in underserved areas, and saved 303 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent by FY25.

“The successful launch of Fund II, with strong repeat participation from Fund I LPs, validates our core thesis: Indian deep-tech founders are uniquely positioned to deliver scalable impact and attractive returns,” said Vasu Guruswamy, co-founder and General Partner at Lavni Ventures.
