Inbound Aerospace Secures $1 Mn in Seed Funding to Advance Reusable Re-entry Spacecraft

IIT Madra incubated space-tech startup Inbound Aerospace has raised over $1 million in a seed funding round led by Speciale Invest. With additional backing from Piper Serica. The investment will fuel the development of its autonomous and reusable re-entry vehicles, marking a significant step toward enabling commercial space research and microgravity-based manufacturing.

Founded in 2025 by Aravind I B, Vishal Reddy, and Abhijit Bhutey, Inbound Aerospace is building a recoverable spacecraft platform designed to support in-orbit experiments and product development in microgravity environments. The newly raised capital will accelerate R&D, validate key subsystems, and help the startup reach crucial design review milestones.

“Microgravity environments are extremely hard to recreate on Earth. Our spacecraft is designed to enable cost-effective, repeatable, and safe return of payloads conducting in-orbit experiments and manufacturing — a capability that's critical to unlocking the next wave of growth in the space economy,” said Aravind I B, Co-founder and CEO of Inbound Aerospace.

The startup wants to fill a major gap in space research infrastructure as the International Space Station (ISS) is set to retire by 2030. With rising interest in space-based research in areas like pharma, biotech, and materials science, Inbound’s re-entry vehicle could become a key tool in boosting India’s space-tech growth.

This mission aligns with the Indian government’sBio3E Policy (2024), which encourages innovation at the intersection of space and biosciences. Inbound Aerospace’s vision is to make space a viable and scalable platform for next-generation product development that can positively impact life on Earth.
