Healthcare startup Gut Clinic has raised $1 million (around Rs 9 crore) in a seed funding round. The investment came from a group of more than 15 investors.

Some of the key investors include Amitoj Singh, Aman Rajpal, Ankur Kathuria from Alpha Wave Global, Juhi Bhatnagar, and Deepak Garg.

The company said it will use the funds to open new centres, improve its clinical systems, and expand its diagnostic services across India’s large preventive healthcare market, which is valued at $197 billion.

“This funding allows us to strengthen the clinical systems required to deliver consistent, high-quality outpatient care at scale,” said Dr Akshat Kumar, Founder and CEO of Gut Clinic. "We are not looking to replace hospitals, but to complement them by managing chronic and preventive gastro, liver and metabolic conditions more effectively outside acute settings. With gastrointestinal disorders on the rise, liver disease among the leading causes of mortality, and fatty liver affecting nearly one in three Indians, it is critical to bring our world-class clinicians closer to patients’ homes.”

Gut Clinic was founded in 2024 by Akshat Kumar. It runs specialised outpatient centres that focus on stomach, liver, and metabolic health.

The clinics provide services such as doctor consultations, endoscopies, colonoscopies, advanced digestive tests, and clinical nutrition support. These centres are designed for patients who want expert care without visiting a large hospital.
