Good Farmer Food Concepts, which owns the coffee brand Maverick & Farmer Coffee and the quick-service brand Square Burgers & Co., has raised USD 1.5 million in an ongoing Pre-Series A funding round led by investment firm CreedCap.
The round also saw participation from Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna and former Indian cricketing star Rahul Dravid, along with Meraki Sport & Entertainment.
The new funds will be used to expand its cafe network across the country, invest in research and production facilities, and strengthen the brand’s retail business.

Sreeram Gangadharan, Co-founder, Good Farmer Food Concepts, said, “Before expanding, we first ensured that our people and operations were completely in order. Once that foundation was set, we began exploring funding and new locations. From the outset, we knew that each Maverick & Farmer Café should tell its own story and connect with a unique community. With Square Burgers, our vision was clear—we wanted to experiment with health-forward fast food. The current round of funding has enabled us to bring these ideas to life.”
Rohan Bopanna said, “I’ve watched Maverick & Farmer grow from the very beginning, and what’s always stood out to me is the honesty and intent behind the brand. Their commitment to quality, experimentation and staying true to their roots is rare. I’m proud to continue supporting their journey and excited to be part of what’s in store next.”

Maverick & Farmer follows a farm-to-cup model and runs experiments on its 140-acre estate in Pollibetta, Coorg, where it develops new brews and flavors.
The brand plans to open new outlets in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Goa, and Bangalore. It currently runs seven outlets in Bangalore and Goa and expects to increase the number to ten by the end of the year.
At present, Maverick & Farmer has cafés in Bangalore at Ulsoor, Koramangala, Cunningham Road, and Yelahanka, and in Goa at Anjuna and Panjim. It also operates a Square Burgers & Co. outlet at the Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence.
Its retail business focuses on specialty coffee roasts and equipment for home brewers.
