Garuda Aerospace Raises Rs 100 Cr In Series B Round

Mahindra Singh Dhoni-backed aerospace startup Garuda Aerospace has raised Rs 100 crore in its series B funding round from Venture Catalysts.

Garuda Aerospace has raised new funds at a $250 million valuation to boost its drone manufacturing capabilities.

The fresh funds will be used to expand its production facility and speed up the setup of an R&D and testing center focused on advanced defense drones.

"This series B funding not only strengthens our capacity to scale manufacturing and innovation but also positions us to accelerate the development of next-generation drone technology," said Agnkshwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace.

“The role Garuda is playing in strengthening India's indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem, while also creating a global footprint, is something that truly excites us,” said Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, Co-founder and Managing Director of Venture Catalysts. 

“We firmly believe that in the years to come, Garuda Aerospace will emerge as a global leader in drone technology, making India the drone hub of the world by 2030,” Sharma added.

Garuda Aerospace said the government's push for drone use and local manufacturing—through policies like Drone Rules 2021 and the PLI scheme—has created a big opportunity in the market.
