Foodtech startup Mealawe has raised $1 million in funding round from a mix of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), a network of Shark Tank founders and angel investors linked to companies like Goldman Sachs and Oracle.
The new proceeds will be used to grow operations by expanding women-led kitchens, improving corporate cafeteria services and building stronger partnerships for sourcing organic ingredients.
The startup plans to use the funds to expand into 14 cities in the next 10-12 months, aiming to deliver 1 million meals per month.
Currently, it operates in Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kota.

Rupesh Kumar, co-founder of Mealawe, said, "Our mission is to bridge the gap in daily food access for corporate employees, students, senior citizens, and more. By focusing on organic ingredients, women-led kitchen setups, and innovative corporate solutions, we are building a sustainable ecosystem that benefits both customers and home chefs."
About Mealawe
Founded in 2022 by Rupesh Kumar, along with co-founders Pratap Haldar and Nikhil Jain, Mealawe started as a platform connecting home chefs with customers, offering nutritious, homemade meals.
As it grows, the startup is bringing home chefs and women into a structured kitchen model, creating jobs while keeping the homemade food concept.
Mealawe ensures high-quality, nutritious meals by sourcing organic ingredients like ghee, wood-pressed oils, and spices directly from farmers, promoting better food and sustainable farming practices.
It claims to have quickly expanded, delivering over 30,000 meals each month.
