Fintech startup Zynk raises $5 Mn in seed round from Hivemind Capital, others

The new funding will be used to expand Zynk’s international money transfer network, which currently supports currencies such as the US Dollar, Euro, Dirham, Indian Rupee, and Peso. It also plans to enhance its security and compliance systems and partner with global banks and payment firms to make cross-border transactions faster and easier.

Fintech startup Zynk raises $5 Mn in seed round from Hivemind Capital, others

Zynk, a cross-border fintech infrastructure startup has raised $5 million (about INR 44 Cr) in its seed funding round led by Hivemind Capital.

The round also saw participation from investors like Coinbase Ventures, Transpose Platform VC, Polymorphic Capital, Tykhe Ventures, among others. 

The new funding will be used to expand Zynk’s international money transfer network, which currently supports currencies such as the US Dollar, Euro, Dirham, Indian Rupee, and Peso. The company also plans to enhance its security and compliance systems and partner with global banks and payment firms to make cross-border transactions faster and easier.

“We want to focus on distribution by expanding the country pairs we support for sending and receiving money, and re-engineer our compliance stack. We also plan to build strategic partnerships with larger clients,” said cofounder and CEO Prashanth Swaminathan.

“We are enabling these cross-border transactions instantly with embedded, just-in-time liquidity, so the payment companies don't have to raise their own separate pre-funding capital, thereby eliminating internal liquidity operations,” he added.

"Cross-border payments are a part of global commerce and finance, yet they remain dragged down by antiquated technologies and a swathe of immobilised capital. A complete rethink is long overdue,” said Emmanuel Vallod, partner and head of ventures at Hivemind Capital.
