Event tech platform Ticket9 raises fresh funds to expand operations

Actors Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan-backed Ticket9, an event technology startup, has raised an undisclosed amount of fresh funding from a group of high-net-worth individuals and non-resident Indians.

The startup plans to use the fresh funds to expand its operations into Europe, strengthening its position in the global event technology space.

Founded in 2022 by Yazhini Shanmugam and Santhos Premraj, Coimbatore-based Ticket9 provides tools for event discovery, ticketing, and guest management. The platform supports a wide range of events, including concerts, marathons, business conferences, and cultural festivals across India and abroad.

Recently, Ticket9 handled over 22,000 bookings for the Anirudh “Hukum” concert in Malaysia.

Ticket9 has introduced Ticket9 RSVP, a new model designed for invitation-based and community-focused events. It allows organizers to curate audiences, manage entry, and streamline guest coordination for both professional and social gatherings. The RSVP feature will first launch in Europe, followed by India and other markets.

The platform caters to everything from small private gatherings to large public events. Ticket9 competes with players like BookMyShow and Zomato Live but differentiates itself with its focus on community events, invitation-based access, and curated attendee experiences.
