Raptee.HV, the Chennai-based electric motorcycle startup has raised strategic funding from the Technology Development Board (TDB), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
Raptee said it is the first EV motorcycle maker in India to get funding from the TDB, without revealing the amount. The startup will use the funds to develop its high-voltage EV technology.

“This support from the Technology Development Board is a strong endorsement of Raptee.HV’s mission to redefine performance electric mobility, from India, for the world. In the absence of an ecosystem for high-voltage motorcycle architecture, we built our own through uncompromising engineering. Earlier, we also received a grant from the Ministry of Heavy Industries through ARAI-AMTIF, and now from TDB, both clear signals of the Government of India’s focus on supporting indigenous technological innovation. The trust placed in us by TDB and ARAI-AMTIF strengthens our resolve to push the boundaries of performance-driven motorcycle electrification in India” said Dinesh Arjun, CEO & Co-Founder, Raptee.HV.
About Raptee
Founded in 2021 by Dinesh Arjun, Keerthivasan Ravi, Karthikeyan Adhikesavan, and Phunith Kumar, Raptee sells electric motorcycles, including the T30 priced at ₹2.4 Lakh (ex-showroom). Its bikes use a high-voltage technology platform similar to electric cars, offering better performance, faster charging, and higher efficiency.
Built on a 240-Volt DC architecture, Raptee bikes are compatible with public charging stations. The startup spent six years developing this technology in India and has an in-house R&D unit to design, test, and validate key components, from electronics and mechanical systems to embedded software.
The Technology Development Board (TDB), part of the Department of Science & Technology, provides financial support through soft loans, equity and grants to help enterprises commercialise Indian technologies. It has previously supported innovations like the TATA Indica and Bharat Biotech’s Covid-19 vaccine.
