EV battery maker Neuron Energy raises Rs 31 Cr in pre-Series B round

Neuron Energy, an EV battery manufacturer, has raised ₹31 crore in a Pre-Series B funding round led by Equanimity Ventures.

The round also saw participation from Rajiv Dadlani Group, Thackersay Family Office, Chona Family Office, and reputed HNIs. 

The funds from this round will be used to increase manufacturing capacity to 3 GWh, build an automated electric four-wheeler facility in Chakan near Pune, expand research and development, and support growth in both domestic and international markets.

The company is aiming for ₹200 crore in revenue this year, with future targets of ₹900 crore, as it works to strengthen its position in India’s fast-growing EV market.

Initially focused on two-wheeler EV batteries, the company is now expanding into batteries for four-wheelers and buses, with an emphasis on high-quality, rigorously tested lithium-ion and next-generation sodium-ion solutions.

Neuron Energy raised ₹20 crore (about $2.3 million) in its Series A round last year from existing investors Chona Family Office and Capri Global Family Office. Earlier, it raised ₹20 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Equanimity Investments and the Rajiv Dadlani Group. Including the Pre-Series B round, Neuron Energy has raised ₹80 crore in total.
