Astrome Technologies, a deep-tech startup, has raised $10 million in funding, led by Appollo Fund with additional investments from IAN Group.

Funding utilization

The startup will use the fresh funds to improve its wireless connectivity technologies, grow its operations, expand product offerings, and enter the satellite communication (satcom) market.

The investment will help the company to boost its market presence, speed up new product development, strengthen its position in terrestrial communications and explore satellite communication opportunities. Support from major investors in India, Singapore and Dubai shows the global demand for advanced wireless technologies and Astrome's proven success in delivering innovative solutions.

Neha Satak, CEO of Astrome, said, "With this capital, we aim to revolutionise the communication landscape by offering cutting-edge solutions for both ground and space communication. This foray into the satcom market represents the timely realisation of the vision with which this company was founded – to drive innovation and create solutions that enhance connectivity on a global scale."

Srajan Shetty, a co-investor from Dubai, said, "As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, the need for robust and scalable communication solutions has never been greater. Astrome's technology offers a promising path forward and I am excited to partner with them in their mission to bridge the digital divide."

Astrome plans to offer its innovative GigaMesh product to international markets through partnerships with global OEMs. The global market struggles to use E-band efficiently due to the limitations of current mechanically aligned antenna technology, which raises the overall cost significantly.

The company has already made a big impact on rural connectivity by partnering with the Indian government to provide broadband to remote villages. Astrome has a proven record of delivering innovative technologies, trusted by key clients like the Indian Army, Indian Navy and BSNL.

About Astrome

Founded in 2015 by entrepreneurs Satak and Prasad HL Bhat, Astrome is based in Bengaluru. The company develops wireless communication products for 5G, rural broadband and satellite network telecom providers.

It sells its patented millimetre wave E-band radios and satellite communication products to satellite operators, wireless equipment manufacturers, system integrators and government agencies.

The startup offers gigabit-speed telecom solutions to service providers, businesses and the defence sector. It aims to speed up the rollout of 5G and broadband in rural areas using its telecom radios and satellite technology.

Astrome is also working on a next-generation E-band radio cable that can deliver 50Gbps per device.
