Dashamlabs raises Rs 12 crore in seed funding round

Dashamlabs, a materials science company has raised Rs 12 crore in a seed funding round led by Speciale Invest, with participation from IIMA Ventures.

The funds will be used to expand R&D and production capacity, develop pilot systems, and collaborate with partners in oil & gas, EVs, defense, and construction to validate and scale Zepto’s aerogel products.

Ankit Jhanwar, Co-founder and CEO of Dashamlabs, said, “We’re on a mission to make energy-efficient materials accessible across industries. By scaling advanced aerogels made in India, we aim to enable cleaner, safer, and more efficient technologies globally.”

About Dashamlabs 

Founded in 2024 by Ankit Jhanwar, Apoorv Balwani, and Devakar Dhingra, Dashamlabs develops silica-aerogel-based flexible sheets and insulation materials that are lightweight, fire-resistant, and high-performance. The Delhi-based deeptech startup focuses on industrial, mobility, and infrastructure applications that demand advanced thermal and fire insulation.

The company’s proprietary technology produces flexible silica aerogel sheets with ultra-low thermal conductivity, high-temperature stability (-150°C to 1000°C), hydrophobicity, and fire resistance. 

Dashamlabs is currently optimising ethanol-based supercritical drying and working toward ambient-pressure drying to enable scalable, cost-efficient mass production.

Speciale Invest, an early-stage deeptech and frontier startup investor, stated that its funding reflects confidence in Dashamlabs’ innovation and its potential to redefine insulation technologies. 

The partnership aims to boost India’s high-performance materials manufacturing and drive global adoption of sustainable, next-generation, energy-efficient solutions.
