EDT, a Direct-to-consumer (D2C) cookware and home appliances brand has raised $1.4 million in its pre-seed funding round led by Sauce VC.
The round also saw participation from angel investors Mithun Sacheti, cofounder and former CEO of CaratLane; Amit Khatri, cofounder of Noise; Vatsal Singhal, cofounder and CTO of Ultrahuman; and others. Caitlin Kalinowski, head of hardware at OpenAI, along with a few others, has joined the startup’s advisory board.

“We’re spending this round (the funds) on building the product, harvesting deep consumer insights through our community, and funding inventory and manufacturing so we’re ready to ship when we launch commercially in January,” said Naiyya Saggi, cofounder and CEO.
She earlier founded BabyChakra, a parenting platform, and later became a co-founder of the Good Glamm Group after BabyChakra merged with it.
With this funding, the startup aims to position itself as a modern brand that combines design and technology with a “better-for-you” approach, using safer materials like glass and food-grade plastics.
EDT has around five to six products in development across home, kitchen, and personal care categories.
