Coliving Startup Colive Raises $20 Mn in Series B Round

The startup said the new funding will be used to improve technology infrastructure and grow its market presence.

Coliving Startup Colive Raises $20 Mn in Series B Round

Colive, India's leading and Bangalore's largest co-living platform, has raised $20 million (Rs 176.32 Cr) in its Series B funding round led by Bain Capital.

The round also saw participation from its existing investor and real estate major Sattva Group.

The startup said the new funding will be used to improve technology infrastructure and grow its market presence.

Before this funding round, Colive had raised over $12 million. Its competitors include Truliv, Stanza Living, Zolo Stays, and NestAway.

About Colive 

Founded in 2016 by Suresh Rangarajan, Colive is a tech-driven rental platform offering branded, serviced, ready-to-move-in homes, mainly for single professionals and young couples. While strong in Bengaluru, it also operates in select areas of Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai.

Alongside the funding, Colive said it has partnered with Bain Capital and Sattva Group to create a pan-India coliving platform, with an initial $100 million commitment. The platform will acquire land, build fully-furnished, smart, professionally managed homes near major workplaces and educational hubs, targeting Gen Z and millennial professionals and students.

Our investment commitment demonstrates our unwavering confidence in this market category and Colive's established leadership position," said Sarit Chopra, Partner at Bain Capital.

Colive has already acquired land in Pune and Bengaluru, with about 0.5 million sq ft of coliving space under development, and is evaluating more sites in Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad. The company plans 8–10 flagship projects in the near term.
