Chini Kum raises Rs 1 crore Pre-seed funding

CHINI KUM, a Zero-sugar beverage startup, has raised Rs 1 crore in a pre-seed funding round from angel investors and founder participation. 

The funding round included Shobhit Gupta (promoter of One8 Commune Restaurants), Varun Sachdeva (head of e-commerce at boat), Eiti Singhal (Eiti Ventures), and several other angel investors.

The startup is launching in India with a range of zero-sugar, low-calorie drinks.

The startup plans to use the new funding to develop new products, introduce more flavors, and expand distribution across India. Part of the funds will also go toward boosting quick commerce and online sales.

Commenting on the fundraise, Priyank Jain, Founder, Chini Kum, said, “Indian Consumers' eating habits are undergoing a structural shift, driven by rising awareness of ingredients & harmful effects of sugar consumption leading to obesity & diabetes.

Founded by Priyank Jain, CHINI KUM is launching its drinks through its direct-to-consumer website and has made an exclusive debut on Swiggy Instamart in select metro cities. The company is starting with carbonated and non-carbonated beverages in lemon and mango flavors.

The drinks are sweetened with stevia and monk fruit extract and include prebiotic fiber, making them lower in calories than traditional sugar-based beverages.

CHINI KUM’s products start at ₹30 for a 160 ml pack, with plans to expand to metro and Tier I cities. The company is focusing on quick commerce platforms to reach consumers looking for healthier alternatives in the beverage category.
