CENTA Raises Rs 20 Cr Funding In Series A1 Round Led By Colossa Ventures

Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA) has secured Rs 20 crore (Around $2.33 million) in its Series A1 funding round led by Colossa Ventures.

The startup plans to use the funds to expand in India and other countries and to upgrade its tech systems.

About CENTA

Founded in 2014 by Ramya Venkataraman and Priyanka Arya, CENTA offers teacher certification, skill development and a "teacher-as-a-service" (TAAS) model that helps schools hire teachers for full-time or part-time roles. The platform says it has 1.7 million teachers from over 100 countries and 100,000 schools.

India is its main market, but CENTA also has users in the UAE, Nigeria, the Philippines, Bangladesh and Ghana. It’s also building partnerships in the UK and US.

CENTA organizes the International Teaching Professional’s Olympiad and has won awards from Dun & Bradstreet, NITI Aayog, UNESCO and others.
