Blinq Mobility, an early-stage electric vehicle startup, has raised Rs 4.3 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by early-stage venture capital firm 8i Ventures.
The round also saw participation from IIMA Ventures, AIC Banasthali Vidyapith, and a group of angel investors.
The startup plans to use the funds to develop battery-swapping electric cars specifically designed for urban mobility applications.

Blinq Mobility was founded by experienced engineers from the automotive and electric vehicle field, including IIT Delhi alumnus and former Vecmocon Technologies CTO, Nikesh Bisht. The company is building electric vehicles made for frequent use in city transport.
Nikesh Bisht, Founder and CEO of Blinq Mobility, shared the company’s design approach. He said that electric vehicles for cities need to be built from the start with high usage and reliability in mind. He added that the funding will help the company improve its engineering and test vehicles in real conditions as it prepares to scale up.
He also explained that Blinq treats the battery and the vehicle as separate parts. The battery works like a portable energy pack, while the vehicle just uses that energy. This approach allows vehicles to keep running without stopping for charging.
