August AI secures $3 million in funding from Accel, Claypond Capital

AI-powered healthtech startup August AI has raised $3 million in a fresh funding round from Accel and Claypond Capital, the family office of Ranjan Pai.

The funds will be used to enhance product development, expand the medical knowledge base, and accelerate customer acquisition.

“August is designed to be an AI health companion to support people throughout their health journey, including understanding symptoms, interpreting reports, and sharing feelings,” said Anuruddh Mishra, founder and CEO of August AI.

 “We have a network of doctors and also work with some of the largest hospitals out of India, which helps us refine these systems,” Mishra added.

“Health-related search trends on google and now ChatGPT point to a massive underserved need for personalised and accessible health information globally,” said, Subrata Mitra, partner at Accel.

“August AI has cracked the code on AI- assisted healthcare through high clinical accuracy, genuine user trust, and a reliable model that complements rather than competes with doctors and care providers,” said Pai.

Founded in 2022 by Anuruddh Mishra, the Bengaluru-based August AI offers an AI-powered chatbot that helps users address their medical needs—whether before consulting a doctor or during ongoing treatment.

August AI supports multiple vernacular languages, enabling access to communities that often delay seeking medical care. While expanding its presence across India, the platform also plans to enter the US market. Currently, it serves over 3.5 million users across 160 countries.
