Agritech startup Eeki raises $7 million from Sixth Sense Ventures

Kota-based Agritech firm Eeki has raised $7 million in a funding round from Sixth Sense Ventures.

The funds will be used to expand farm operations across India using aeroponic technology, boost research and development, and increase the use of its advanced Gen 3 Growing Chambers.

Back in 2022, Eeki raised $6.5 million in its Series A round led by General Catalyst. A few months earlier, it had also secured $2 million in a funding round led by Avaana Capital and other investors.

Abhay Singh, CEO & Co-Founder of Eeki said, “This funding marks a pivotal moment in our journey toward scaling climate-resilient farming across India and abroad. Our aim is to build a future-ready food system that can thrive irrespective of environmental challenges. Nikhil and Kathan’s appreciation for in-house hardware & tech and long-term value creation makes them the ideal partners for us. The introduction of aeroponics in our Gen 3 chambers represents a paradigm shift in precision agriculture, allowing us to grow clean, nutritious vegetables consistently, independent of seasons and soil.”

“30% of our team is focused on improving core tech to maximise yield with minimal resources,” said cofounder Amit Kumar. “This raise helps us perfect more crops across zones. With Sixth Sense’s consumer expertise, we aim to build Eeki’s positioning as a leader in nutrition and origin,” Kumar said.

“Sustainable agriculture is critical to future food security. Eeki’s breakthrough model has proven itself in India’s toughest conditions, with superior cost efficiency and potential for global scalability. Backed by sharp execution and R&D, Abhay and Amit are building what could be the world’s most efficient farming company. We’re thrilled to partner with these brilliant scientists-turned-farmers on this journey,” said Nikhil Vora, Founder and CEO of Sixth Sense Ventures.

About Eeki

Founded in 2018 by Abhay Singh and Amit Kumar, Eeki is building a scalable and sustainable food production system by using its patented climate-controlled aeroponic chambers. This unique farming model grows pesticide-free staple vegetables year-round, even on barren or non-arable land.

In this method plant roots hang in the air and are sprayed with a nutrient-rich mist using up to 95% less water than traditional farming. This method offers precise control over growing conditions, helping Eeki achieve higher yields, consistent quality and production costs similar to regular farming.

The startup focuses on growing vegetables with better nutrition while tackling environmental issues like soil degradation and water scarcity. Its farms can be set up in regions with poor soil, reduce pressure on fertile land and ensuring fresh and local produce is available throughout the year.
