"We are excited to emerge from stealth.AI is by far the most impactful technology inflection in the last century. For a team that has lived and breathed compute architecture for decades, building an AI computer grounds-up to help advance the potential of this technology is gratifying. We are leveraging India’s immense semiconductor and software talent to build a product that will compete on the global stage,” said Dheemanth Nagaraj, Co-founder & CEO of Agrani Labs.
“Accelerated compute silicon (GPUs) is one of the most attractive and strategic markets globally. We are excited to partner with them as they aspire to build one of the world’s leading fabless semiconductor companies, from India.” said Ashish Agrawal, MD Peak XV Partners.
About Agrani Labs
Founded in 2024 by Dheemanth Nagaraj, Ashok Jagannathan, Srikanth Nimmagadda and Rajesh Vivekanandham, Bengaluru-based Agrani Labs is developing a high-performance AI GPU for data centers, entering a fast-growing market currently dominated by a few global players.
The startup is building a full-stack AI compute platform, including both hardware and software. Alongside GPU design, it is creating its own software stack with compilers, libraries, system software and AI frameworks.
Vinod Dham, known as the “Father of the Pentium,” has joined as a founding advisor. He played a key role in Intel’s processor roadmap and is closely connected to India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
Agrani Labs has already made progress on architecture and product design, producing early versions of its hardware and software. The company is also collaborating with academic institutions, semiconductor partners, government research bodies and software ecosystems to accelerate development.
