[Funding alert] Plobal Apps raises $8.5 mn in funding

Plobal Tech Inc, which operates a no-code app platform for e-commerce stores Plobal Apps, has raised $8.5 million in a funding round led by Elevation Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from Better Capital.

The startup plans to use the funds to expand its reach in North America, launch new products, and strengthen its technology infrastructure.

Plobal Apps was founded in 2016 by Atul Poharkar, It helps direct-to-consumer (D2C) and e-commerce brands to build and launch their own mobile apps without spending money on hiring an external app developer.

The startup help their customers or brands use their platform to launch their apps, increase installs, engage with users and ultimately generate revenue.

It works with mid-market and enterprise Shopify customers, and its clients include Steve Madden, Goose Creek, Koovs, Rare Rabbit, and others.

Through its Platform app, when the app is live, merchants can access dashboards to monitor the development of their apps and engage with their customers through features such as advanced analytics, automatic abandoned cart push notification and more.

“For many D2C brands, personalisation and retargeting have become challenging with the increase in privacy policies, regulations, and third-party data restrictions. With rising acquisition costs and more focus on retention, brands are doubling down on owned platforms like email, SMS, and mobile apps to reach their customers…,” said, Atul Poharkar, founder of Plobal Apps.
