The startup plans to use the funds to increase its platform distribution and add more local languages ​​to its platform.

The Gurugram-based OckyPocky was founded in 2017 by Amit Agrawal (former head of YouTube India), It leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP) to help children between the ages of 2 and 8 learn and speak English. It is aimed at parents of small town children who face challenges with spoken English.

“The present funding opens us up to the funds in Silicon Valley and gives us a newer perspective through a new channel of investors. English is the biggest gatekeeper for admissions and jobs for the middle class. Since its inception, OckyPocky has been on a mission to empower children and help them master English with the right learning tools,” said, Amit Agrawal, founder OckyPocky.

The startup currently helps students learn English through Hindi and Marathi, and aims to integrate Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Malayalam and Kannada to its platform.

The startup also offers live classes to students and claims to see around half a million monthly active users on its platform. It is also in talks to raise more funds by the end of this year based on its development goals.

In September 2021, OckyPocky had raised undisclosed amount in seed funding round from Udaan Co-founder Sujeet Kumar and SucSEED Indovation Fund.
