Executive Director Kedar Lele Quits Unilever

Kedar Lele, who has been employed by Unilever for approximately twenty years, has recently resigned from the company. He served as Executive Director of Hindustan Unilever and Head of Sales and Customer Development for South Asia for the subsequent three years.

Kedar Lele, who has been employed by Unilever for approximately twenty years, has recently resigned from the company. He served as Executive Director of Hindustan Unilever and Head of Sales and Customer Development for South Asia for the past three years.

From January 2018 to June 2021, he was the Chairman and Managing Director of Unilever Bangladesh. Prior to being appointed as the ED-HUL and Head of Sales and Customer Development-South Asia at Unilever, he held this position. In addition to his role as Chairman of Unilever Bangladesh, he was also a member of the board of Unilever Consumer Care (formerly GSK Bangladesh) during this period.

He also served as the company's Chief Operating Officer for approximately six months, from June 2017 to December 2017. He was responsible for the business operations, sales, and customer development function, as well as the go-to-market organization at Unilever Bangladesh, which encompassed marketing, customer and trade management, media, marketing research, and activation.

Lele was the Vice President of Hindustan Unilever from June 2014 to May 2017. In this capacity, she was responsible for the management of the FMCG major's eCommerce, Modern Trade (including Global & National banners across Retail and Cash & Carry business), Government's Defense (CSD) and Police (CPC) channels, as well as the technology and analytics nerve-center for Sales and Customer Development in India.

He previously held the position of General Manager at HUL from November 2010 to May 2014. In this capacity, he was responsible for the overall management of the HUL business, which encompassed a multifunctional, 500+ member team in 12 states of Eastern India. He also set the regional agenda, led sales and customer development strategies, and managed operations.


Kedar Lele, said: “Goodbye, HUL. Today, for the first time in over 20 years, I am not able to say that I work for Hindustan Unilever. Friday, 30th Aug I walked out of the Mumbai head-office as its employee for the last time.
