Ekank Technologies, which runs a vernacular storytelling platform called ThisDay, has raised $1 million funding from a clutch of investors, including 9Unicorns, Venture Catalysts, Titan Capital, Bharat Founders Fund Syndicate, and Sujeet Kumar, cofounder of Udaan.
Ekank Technologies was founded by Summit Nayak & Chetan Rexwal in 2020.
“India is a land of pluralities and despite this rich diversity in the country's culture, there is a startling gap in the Indian startup landscape pertaining to our rich heritage, which is on the verge of being lost and forgotten,” Chetan Rexwal, cofounder, Ekank Technologies said.
ThisDay is Making history coherent, accessible, easy to consume - one day at a time. They are a team working towards building a content graph for the masses. The idea is to revamp the way users discover and interact with historical content in a gamified and engaging way. Imagine a merger of Wikipedia and History.com but on steroids!
At Ekank, their vision is to create a gateway through which people can access content seamlessly without getting overwhelmed. To achieve this, there has to be an amalgamation of technology, product, design, content and marketing - each excelling in its own right while supporting the other to grow exponentially.
