About Dr. Akram Ahmad
Meet Dr. Akram Ahmad, the CEO and founder of Academically Global. An inspiring entrepreneur, Dr. Ahmad began his journey in a humble, struggling family. He was born in the small town of Sahaswan, in the Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh, and grew up in a farming family. However, he never allowed his struggling life to become a barrier. He completed his education at a government school in his village. He always wanted to help young people in the medical field. Akram was a dedicated student who consistently excelled in his studies.
Akram completed B.Pharm from Allahabad Agricultural Institute, and later moved to Tamil Nadu to pursue his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Annamalai University. Then, he completed his PhD at the University of Sydney in public health and health service research. With a background as a pharmacist, researcher, and educator, he has lectured at numerous universities across India, Malaysia, and Australia. He now focuses on supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals as they migrate to Australia and other countries for better career opportunities.
The inspiration behind the startup
With nearly a decade of experience working as a clinical pharmacology lecturer, research associate, and research manager in Sydney and Malaysia, he was enjoying his high-flying career with a ₹72 lakh package.
While working, Akram identified a significant gap. He realized that many medical professionals were stuck in various small and low-paying jobs because they were unaware of the routes to securing better employment in the medical field in Australia or other countries.
He says that medical professionals are required to clear certain exams to secure higher-paying opportunities abroad. Unfortunately, many deans in medical colleges are unaware of these exams, and even those who know often do not share this information with students.
After becoming aware of this, he started creating YouTube videos to educate others about the exams required to pursue better medical jobs in foreign countries. His content was highly valuable to medical aspirants and professionals. Consequently, his YouTube channel quickly gained a large audience.
After observing the questions and curiosity from medical professionals and students around the world, Akram saw the need to establish a healthcare EdTech startup. Soon, he aimed to provide guidance and preparation for the exams required to secure higher-paying medical careers abroad.
Eventually, he decided to resign from his lucrative job with a salary of ₹6 lakhs per month and was determined to embark on a new chapter to tackle this gap.

Concept to creation
Finally, in 2022, he took a leap of faith and embarked on his entrepreneurial journey with a vision to make a difference. This journey led him to launch a groundbreaking healthcare EdTech platform named Academically Global. He specifically designed this innovative platform for medical professionals seeking to elevate their careers and expand their opportunities.
At Academically Global, medical practitioners can enroll in a variety of courses to prepare for crucial licensing exams. These exams are essential gateways to securing better-paying jobs in foreign countries, enabling professionals to enhance their skills.
With a commitment to empowering medical personnel, he created an environment where knowledge and expertise could thrive, paving the way for a brighter future in the global healthcare landscape. Academically Global also provides candidates with assistance with document verification and resume creation after they pass their licensing exams. Through this initiative, he addressed a significant gap in the healthcare sector, transforming the lives of countless medical professionals around the world.
Dream to Reality
Academically Global helps students prepare by taking both recorded and live online classes. Currently, it serves students in 75 countries, assisting them in passing licensing exams for countries like Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, the USA, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai. Each country has different exam requirements for foreign healthcare professionals, and Academically Global offers preparation for around 25 exams, including OPRA, AMC, ADC, COE, PEBC, PSI, APC, and IELTS.
Academically Global started with just 7 students in its first batch. Within two years, the healthcare EdTech has trained about 3,000 students and healthcare workers, including pharmacists, MBBS doctors, physiotherapists, dentists, and nurses. With a remarkable 90% success rate, over 500 students have already secured jobs abroad.
Aspirations for the Future
They aim to train healthcare professionals, such as pharmacists, doctors, nurses, lab technicians, and physiotherapists, by providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to become certified and thrive in the global healthcare system.
Akram will expand Academically Global’s course in multiple countries, including the Middle East and Europe. By 2025, the platform aims to introduce medical licensing exam courses for the U.S. and several European nations. Academically Global is changing the lives of thousands of students, helping them fulfill their aspirations and play a vital role in the global healthcare workforce.
The best part of his story is that, rather than complaining about his struggles, he focused on taking action to improve his situation. Through his efforts, he ultimately transformed his entire life.
