CRED Appoints B Sriram As An Independent Director

B Sriram, a professional in the financial services sector, has joined CRED’s board as an independent director.

Sriram has more than 40 years of expertise in industries like banking, finance, and technology. According to an announcement from the Kunal Shah-led company, he will be crucial in giving direction and advice for CRED’s strategic plan, expansion goals, and operational path, as reported by Inc42.com.

Sriram is going to assist the business in improving its fintech solutions. He has held managing director positions in the State Bank of India, IDBI Bank, and the State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur in past years. Additionally, he has served on the boards of several SBI companies, namely SBI Capital Securities, SBI Global Factors, SBI Life Insurance, SBI General Insurance, SBI DFHI, and SBI Cards & Payment Services.

He serves as an independent director on the boards of ICICI Bank, the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development, TVS Credit Services, TVS Motor Company, TVS SCS Singapore, TVS Supply Chain Solutions, Nippon Life India Asset Management.

Commenting on the appointment, CRED founder and CEO Shah said, “I am delighted to welcome Mr. Sriram to our board as we scale and prepare for our next growth phase. His domain expertise in the financial sector will be invaluable for us as we innovate and build products for the top 10% of Indians.”

CRED was founded by Kunal Shah in 2018. It is an online service that gives credit card customers the ability to manage several cards and evaluate their credit scores. When paying the bills on their credit cards through the app, members with high Experian or CRIF scores are eligible for special prizes. The app has various capabilities, including CRED’s credit card spend tracking and management tool, which offers the user insight into spend tracking and card usage effectiveness.
