[Funding alert] CLoudFeather Games raises $1.25 mn in seed funding

Online gaming firm CloudFeather Games has raised $1.25 million in its seed funding round from Lumikai.

The round also saw participation from Venture Highway, Maninder Gulati, chief strategy officer of Oyo and Manish Agarwal, CEO of Nazara Technologies.

The startup plans to use the funds to hire key personnel in business development, product and technology as it aims to increase its developer outreach programs to both domestic and global game studios.

The Bengaluru-based CloudFeather Games was founded in 2020 by Romi Chandra and Yash Chandra, It provides real-money gaming and WEB3 tools for game developers.

The startup aims to provide developers with built-in engagement and monetization in their games. The solution is a suite of full-stack competing formats (tooling kits) that will provide developers with a third pillar of monetization beyond in-app purchases (IAPs) and ads.

“Casual games do not have meaningful monetization avenues outside of Ads and IAPs. Given this, there is room for disruption by providing a novel monetization avenue which supercharges game engagement, without developers needing to re-design their existing game economies. We look forward to working with gaming leaders Lumikai and a curated group of strategic investors,” said, Romi Chandra, co-founder, CloudFeather Games.

Lumikai is India’s first dedicated gaming and interactive media venture capital firm and the fund is building India’s next generation of creative and talented founders.

Lumikai has backed many gaming startups including Bombay Play, Loco and Eloelo, and others.
