Abhaya Hota, a former official of National Payments Corporation of India, has joined the board of independent directors of Cashfree Payments, a fintech platform.
Abhaya Hota has worked in the banking and financial services industries for almost 35 years. Previously, he spent almost ten years as the managing director and chief executive officer of NPCI.

He was instrumental in the introduction of UPI and RuPay credit cards at NPCI as well as the use of digital technologies for check clearing.
In addition, Hota has independent directorships at RBI Innovation Hub, Federal Bank, NSE Clearing, and Protean e-Gov Technologies.
In his new position, Hota will work with Cashfree Payments to develop cutting-edge goods and services that will promote the development of an easily navigable payments environment for both companies and consumers.
An entire stack of digital payment solutions are offered by Cashfree Payments. Along with providing API banking options, it lets businesses accept payments.
