The former CEO of Bajaj Electricals, Anuj Poddar, has been appointed as the Co-Head of Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS) for Asia at the global investment firm Carlyle. The focus of the position will be on India and Southeast Asia.
Poddar will work in conjunction with Janine Feng, Vice Chair of Carlyle Asia, and Richard Elder, Global Head of GPS, to enhance the performance and value creation of portfolio companies in this newly established position.
In May 2016, Anuj Poddar commenced his tenure as a Non-Executive, Independent Director at Bajaj Electricals Ltd. He subsequently rose to the position of Executive Director in November 2018 and subsequently assumed the roles of Managing Director and CEO in August 2022.
Poddar has accumulated more than 30 years of experience, including nearly 14 years as Senior Executive Vice President and Business Head at Viacom18 Media. In addition, he has an extensive background in consulting, M&A, and other corporate services, having worked with Arthur Andersen and KPMG.
