[Funding News] Cambrian Bioworks Secures $1.45 Mn Seed Funding Round

Cambrian Bioworks, a biotechnology company headquartered in Bengaluru, has raised $1.45 million in its seed round.

The funds will be allocated to the expansion of the team, the support of ventures into international markets, the development of Cambrian's automated molecular diagnostics platforms, and research and development pursuits.

The Irani family office, which has invested in numerous private ventures worldwide, led the round. Vaibhav Hegde, his company's CEO and co-founder, also participated in the round.

Hegde, Rohit Asil, and Raghav Sridhar established Cambrian Bioworks, which specializes in the development of automated molecular diagnostic platforms. Application areas for its products include oncology, genomics, rare disease diagnostics, and AMR detection.

The company recently introduced Manta, a nucleic acid extraction platform from Cambrian, which offers high-quality DNA/RNA for genomics and PCR testing in hospitals and laboratories.
