India’s first career tech venture, Board Infinity announced the acquisition of the aspiring CXO career platform Leadup Universe, which specialises in creating unique learning programs and career pathways for aspiring CXOs.

The move will extend Board Infinity’s offerings beyond its current ones that focus on early careers to mid-senior level executives who are aspiring to be future CXOs.While the deal value and financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, the company shared that the entire team of Leadup Universe, including its co-founders and investors, will join Board Infinity. The brands however will be separately retained.

Founded in 2021 by Mayank Verma and Rashmi Mandloi, Leadup has strong premium university tie-ups, an exclusive CXO Club and Strategic Programs for Executives. Sandeep Sinha from Lumis Partners, Pankaj Bansal Partner at Work Universe & Group CEO of People Strong, Sulbha Rai (CPO at Renewbuy.com), and NS Rajan, Former CHRO of Tata Sons are investors and advisors in Leadup Universe.

Sumesh Nair, Co-founder and CEO of Board Infinity said that the acquisition of Leadup would enable Board Infinity to facilitate higher lifetime value per customer over a 20-year period using the newly created career graph product which can be the de-facto way careers can be made for professionals from early career till C-Suite. Leadup’s first program with XLRI is a massive success and the community has more than 10,000 aspiring CXOs. We would want to leverage the strengths of both companies and create programs for the technology and management space for mid-career and late-career professionals while Board Infinity continues to strengthen its leadership in the early careersspace”.

“We have disrupted learning engagement in the senior executivecareer space with more than 95% customers completing our courses enabled by a hybrid experience and CXO mentoring compared to the typical average of 50% in self-paced video courses”, Mayank co-founder and CEO of Leadup Universe added.

For Board Infinity, Leadup marks its 1st acquisition to date. Currently, many career-tech companies are in discussion with Board Infinity to create a formidable alliance of brands which can solve repeat use cases in the career tech space and build a platform which has real synergies from a revenue and cost standpoint. Through this acquisition, both entities together will create 4x career transitions and it enhances the value proposition at scale in the market which is a great outcome for customers, team and investors.
