BMRCL-NLM Partners to Help Women Entrepreneurs

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) and the National Livelihood Mission entered into a memorandum of cooperation to launch a new program with the objective of providing assistance to women entrepreneurs in both rural and urban areas.

The arrangement signifies the commencement of a one-year initiative to lease stalls at Bengaluru Santhe, situated on Swami Vivekananda Road.

BMRCL stated that this collaboration signifies the initial endeavor to build an exclusive marketplace for self-help groups, rural artisans, and small-scale enterprises. The Bengaluru Santhe, a collaborative effort of BMRCL, RDPR, and HUDCO, aims to showcase and support local crafts, khadi, and other rural items, with a focus on urban consumers.

The statement states that the new marketplace, referred to as the Rural Haat, consists of a group of stalls arranged in a line along a central spine, imitating a conventional street market.

The site’s architecture embodies Karnataka’s folk art, making it an appealing destination for both residents and visitors.
