Blue Dart, a logistics company, announced on Friday (June 21) that it has begun drone deliveries in collaboration with Skye Air, a drone manufacturer based in the United Kingdom.
Blue Dart will initially concentrate on e-commerce deliveries and will utilize drones to provide last-mile services, although it did not specify the cities in which the service will be available.

Blue Dart intends to expand its coverage of pin codes throughout the nation in subsequent phases in collaboration with its partners.
Blue Dart plans to implement drone deliveries by situating containers known as Skye Pods in housing societies. Parcels will be collected from these containers by delivery executives, who will then deliver them to the ultimate customers.
Almost three years have passed since Blue Dart initiated its drone delivery experiments in September 2021, when it piloted visual line of sight (VLOS) drones in the Vikarabad area of Hyderabad. The launch is the culmination of this endeavor. It also conducted demonstrations for its beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drones under the Telangana Government’s “Medicine from the Sky” initiative a few months later.
