[Funding News] BigEndian Semiconductors Secures $3 Mn Funding from Vertex Ventures

The fabless semiconductor design startup, BigEndian Semiconductors, has announced that it has secured $3 million in funding, with Vertex Ventures SEA & India serving as the lead investor. Other strategic investors have also contributed to the financing.

The funds will be allocated to the company's engineering team, research and development capabilities, and operations in order to expand and satisfy the increasing demand for advanced surveillance technology in India and the global market.

This investment will expedite BigEndian's trajectory of manufacturing semiconductors from India to the global market, including its forthcoming surveillance system-on-chip (SoC) solution, and will contribute to the expansion of India's burgeoning semiconductor ecosystem.

Despite the fact that India is home to 20-25% of the global design talent, the semiconductor sector has historically lacked a significant presence in the global market. Nevertheless, the semiconductor industry in India is experiencing a period of growth due to the recent changes in the global supply chain and the increasingly favorable policies that promote indigenous semiconductor design.

Sunil Kumar, co-founder and CEO of BigEndian, said: "This investment enables us to accelerate our journey of disrupting the value chain with open, secure, and collaborative technology.
