Rainmatter, a startup fund backed by Zerodha, has invested $1 million to Amwoodo, a manufacturer of bamboo products.
The funds raised will go towards improving tools and machines, developing the skills of craftspeople, and supporting growth plans.
"At Amwoodo, we have always believed in pushing boundaries, challenging the status quo, and driving positive change. This new injection of capital not only validates our vision but also empowers us to accelerate our growth, expand our reach, and deliver even greater value to our customers, partners, and stakeholders," the startup added in a release.

They work with roughly 380 artisans and individually purchase bamboo from about 400 farmers in the northeast. Their factories in Howrah, Kolkata, are where items are final refined to suit export requirements.
