Amazon India and Sarthak Education Trust Launches Global Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)
To develop the Global Resource Centre (GRC), Amazon.in partnered with Sarthak Education Trust, a renowned non-profit organisation that advocates for people with disabilities (PWDs). The center's mission is to empower those with disabilities throughout India. It was opened in the presence of Hon. Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar.

To develop the Global Resource Centre (GRC), Amazon.in partnered with Sarthak Education Trust, a renowned non-profit organisation that advocates for people with disabilities (PWDs). The center’s mission is to empower those with disabilities throughout India. It was opened in the presence of Hon. Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Amazon’s partnership with Sarthak Education Trust (SET) advances disability inclusion and empowerment. Collaboration transforms, and the Global Resource Centre will have a global influence. GRC will serve as a hub for specialised training, assistive technologies, mentorship, and job placement in Gurugram, Haryana. Inclusion will be a hallmark of the GRC, which will provide a wide range of resources for those with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Locomotor disabilities. Amazon’s technology and Sarthak’s disability skill development, training, and job placement capabilities are used in this collaboration.

“This initiative signifies a giant leap towards inclusivity,” said Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar. “By offering invaluable resources and opportunities to people with disabilities, the GRC reflects our nation’s commitment to creating a society where everyone can contribute meaningfully. I commend corporates for their vision and dedication to fostering empowerment and embracing diversity.”

The GRC’s effective programmes will build capacity in technology, e-commerce, logistics, and more to equip disabled people for the digital economy. An essential aspect of the programme, the Rozgarsarthi app matches disabled candidates with Amazon and other opportunities. Amazon also teaches disabled persons English, offers mobile devices, up to INR 20,000 per month, and helps with travel and lodging.
