The $30 million (INR 249 Cr) first fund of US venture capital (VC) firm Alphatron Capital, formerly known as SMK Ventures, was closed.

The $30 million (INR 249 Cr) first fund of US venture capital (VC) firm Alphatron Capital, formerly known as SMK Ventures, was closed.

The fund, stated by the company, seeks to lower entrance hurdles for US investors while giving access to a wide pool of innovative and tech-leveraged enterprises in India.

The fund was oversubscribed by 20%, according to a statement from the firm, compared to its initial goal of $25 million, or roughly INR 207 crore.

Startups from the SaaS, fintech, healthtech, AI/ML, digital content, and D2C industries will be the fund’s primary the spotlight.

“The Indian economy, driven by technological advancements, presents tremendous growth opportunities for investors,” Suresh Vaswani, Founding Partner and Chairman of Alphatron Capital, said.

According to Alphatron, it thoroughly investigates the target finances. The venture capital business intends to monitor potential for joint investments and tech-led funds.
