Alphabet Partners with AI startup Anthropic

The antitrust regulator in Britain is examining the collaboration between Google’s parent company, Alphabet, and the artificial intelligence startup Anthropic, and evaluating its effects on competition.

Over 18 months since the introduction of ChatGPT by OpenAI, which was supported by Microsoft, antitrust regulators worldwide have been more worried about various agreements made between smaller industry startups and large technology companies.

The agreements being examined involve Microsoft’s collaborations with startups like OpenAI, Inflection AI, and Mistral AI, as well as Alphabet’s connections with smaller companies like as Anthropic and Cohere.

Anthropic’s Claude AI models have competed for dominance with OpenAI’s GPT series.

The Alphabet-Anthropic alliance aims to reduce competition in the UK and has established a deadline of August 13th for its request for comments.
