Yuri Milner’s DST Global and Snowflake among other investors invested $50 million in the AI model startup Reka.
The money will be used to hire a business team and buy computer capacity from Nvidia, according to Dani Yogatama, CEO of Reka, as per reported by The Economic Times.
“The bigger opportunity is how we take some of these smaller, more customized models and be able to bring them to run inside Snowflake so that we can give customers the guarantee that if you’re using this model, the privacy of your data is guaranteed,” said Christian Kleinerman, Senior Vice President of Product at Snowflake, which also announced a partnership with Nvidia to give enterprises Nvidia’s software stack to build AI models.
For commercial clients, Reka specialises in building large, complex AI models. Recently, Snowflake, a startup investor, announced a partnership that will let users run outside model providers like Reka inside of their Snowflake accounts.
Yogatama stated that Reka set itself apart by creating both substantial models and exclusive model distillation technology to reduce models for particular use cases. Both text and images are supported by its models.
Reka is an AI research and product company that develops models to benefit humanity, organizations, and enterprises.
