Agritech startup Veg Route has raised $1.1 million in its seed funding round from US-based VGROW Ventures, along with Ravi Shankar Kathirvelu, Chief Business Officer, Venture Partner.Â
Other investors including Mohan K and Jai Kumar (founders of Ippopay) ; Hari TN (Co-founder, Artha School of Entrepreneurship) ; and Abhishek Raj Pandey (Head of Commercial Operations, Mama Earth) also participated in this round.
The startup plans to use the funds to scale up technological and data-driven solutions to strengthen and revolutionize the fresh produce supply chain.

The Chennai-based Veg Route was founded in November 2020 by Anand Alagarsamy and Shyam Prashad Rajasekaran, It is a B2C fresh produce agritech supply chain platform that directly connects farmers to the end consumer and eliminates middlemen in the process and also ensures better pricing.
The startup plans to set up cold store warehouses and last mile delivery operations in e-vehicles and collection centers in small towns and villages in South India. It delivers fresh produce to your doorstep from farms in five cities and tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
Shyam Prasad Rajasekaran, Founder and CEO, Veg Route, said the startup will expand its operations and connect with over 50,000 farmers and cater to over 2.5 lakh consumers per day across 100 cities by 2025.
Earlier this year, Veg Route had raised $180 K in its pre-Seed funding round from various investors.
