Agritech Startup Growcoms raises $1.1 million in its Series A funding round from Kerala Startup Mission and incubated at Indigram Labs Foundation.
The startup plans to use the funds to expand the tech platform and expand its market reach. In addition, it intends to facilitate cross-border trade and strengthen traceability and transparency of the spice value chain.
Kochi-based Growcoms was founded in 2021 by George Kurian Kannanthanam, Bibin Mathews, and Narendranath P, It focuses on creating awareness among farmers about enhancing the quality of produce and thus getting the right price for their produce.

The startup aims to provide technology-based solutions to some of the major issues in the B2B domain of spices.
“The company focuses on raising farmer awareness about improving product quality and thus earning the best price for their products. Growcoms aims to become a one-stop shop for Indian spices and value-added products, popularising them globally via the use of technology. The company also provides agronomy, product development, and market connections”, said, Kurian Kannanthanam, founder and CEO of Growcoms.

We are eager to work with the team to solve fragmentation in the spice supply chain by aggregating spare capacity, strengthening market linkages for the unorganised sector, and introducing product traceability for international trade.”

Growcoms Private Limited was born from the idea for the need to consolidate the value chain in the agri-commodity industry, providing transparency and traceability to the customers.
Founded in 2020, Growcoms comes with a collective people work experience of more than 15 years in the agri-commodity export industry.
