[Funding alert] Aerotime raises $2 mn in seed funding led by Y Combinator, others

Workplace productivity platform Aerotime has raised $2 million in its seed funding round from Nexus Venture Partners, Y Combinator, Sequoia Capital India, and SOMA Capital.

The funding round also saw participation from Akshay Kothari (Chief Operating Officer at Notion), Nir Eyal  (bestselling author of Hooked), andIndistractable, and Damien Coullon (Vice President of Product at LinkedIn).

With this funding, The Startup plans to grow and target medium to large-sized companies to optimize workplace productivity and reduce distractions.

The US and Bengaluru-based Aerotime was founded in 2021 by Piyush Narwani and Dhruv Goel, It’s a calendar that claims to solve productivity loss due to fragmented meetings and distractions, without changing anything in the user’s workflow.

“Time is one of the most valuable assets we have, yet we waste it without realizing it. Prioritization and context switching are two of the biggest reasons for this”, said, Piyush Narwani, co-founder of Aerotime.

“Aerotime helps you be intentional about the time and automates many workflows to save time. Our vision is to help humans live life in a flow state”, he added.

According to the startup, Aerotime uses over 20 parameters to recommend suitable time slots for meetings like preferred focus time, past meeting schedule, etc.

The startup is targeting a large market, with a study compiled by Atlassian citing $37 billion as the salary cost of unnecessary meetings for US businesses alone.
