In a seed fundraising round headed by Peak XV’s scale-up program Surge, the bread business The Health Factory has secured $3.5 million. Angel investors Kartik Mehta, Ali Tambawala, and Sunil Tulsiani were participating in the round.
Along with improving its operational and logistical technology, the company also intends to increase its retail presence through general and contemporary trade channels.

Vinay Maheshwari, Founder, The Health Factory, said, “We are thrilled to have the backing of Peak XV’s Surge along with Kartik Mehta and Ali Tambawala, Sunil Tulsiani as we enter our next phase of growth. This investment will enable us to disrupt additional markets with our health-focused offerings. We have received interest from numerous Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, and this funding will allow us to expand our reach to more pin codes, ensuring our products are accessible to more consumers seeking healthier options.”
With the additional funding, The Health Factory is going to able to create new product segments more quickly through research and development, or R&D, and development of products.

The Health Factory was founded in 2018 by Maheshwari and Mohit Sankhala. It makes protein bread, and bread made without maida. According to the company, there are no chemicals or preservatives in any of its goods.
